Guided Walking Weekend in Gower, next date 11th of March
For those who would enjoy guided walks in Gower in the good company of other like minded people, we are offering Guided Walking Weekends, the next of which is on the 11th of March.
The walking will be at a moderate pace, and allow ample opportunities for you to stop and take a breather, take photos, or simply to admire the stunning views.
Walks will begin after a hearty Welsh breakfast, stopping mid-morning for coffee and later for a freshly-made packed lunch or hot pub food depending on the consensus of the group. After a futher afternoons walking, we will return back to Parc-Le-Breos in time for you to freshen up and relax prior to enjoying our hearty three-course dinner. Wine and local ales are also available.
Weekend itinerary
Arrival Day- On arrival you will be shown to one of our en-suite rooms and offered a pot of tea or coffee in the lounge. You can then have some time to enjoy your surroundings before having evening meal and meeting your fellow walkers.
Day One – Saturday
Today we will car-share and drive to the start of the walk at Rhossili village, home to the National trust Visitor's Centre. The walk will be around nine miles, and walkers will have an opportunity to enjoy some dramatic coastal walking with what is considered to be one of the finest views in Gower, over the three mile stretch of Rhossili Bay and Worms Head, the promontory off the headland.
Day Two – Sunday
Today we will walk from the House, along Cefn Bryn – the ‘backbone' of Gower, and enjoy the magnificent 360 degree panorama with views ranging from the coastlines of Devon and Pembrokeshire to the heights of the Brecon Beacons National park. Dropping down to sea level, we will stroll through the delightful Nicholston woods and take in the sweep of Oxwich Bay, returning to the House in plenty of time before you start your journey home.

What to bring ;
You will need walking boots or stout shoes (not trainers). The walks will be on set paths, but these may be rough and it may be wet underfoot.
Suitable clothing, warm fleece or coat and a waterproof rainjacket
Waterproof trousers and gaiters can be useful
Walking poles if you use them
Small rucksack/day pack
Seat pad
A flask (coffee and tea supplied to fill it)
Insurance
We advise persons to obtain their own insurance, although the walking is moderate it still entails inherent risks with any physical outdoor activity. On occasions there may be rough terrain and wet underfoot. The walking programme and routes may be alterd depending on the weather .
